Christopher Flowers Obituary

Christopher David “Chris” Flowers, 55, of North Vernon, passed away on April 19, 2024, at his residence.

Born October 17, 1968, in Florence, South Carolina; the son of Herbert Raymond Flowers and Annette (Cribb) White. He married Kristi Lee on July 19. 2020, at their home in North Vernon; she survives.

Chris was a 1986 graduate of Hannah-Pamplico High School in Pamplico, South Carolina, he served in the United States Army where he served during, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Desert Calm, Iraqi Liberation and Enduring Freedom. He worked as a long-haul driver for Central Trucking Inc. in Edinburg. Chris was a member of Am Vet’s Post #7 where he served as an officer, Judge Advocate and General, Am Vet’s Post 7 Rider, V.F.W. Post in Columbus and was a Mason. He enjoyed scuba diving, fishing, horseback riding, cooking, and barbecuing. Chris was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening.  He never met a stranger and loved his animals, hanging out and talking to his family and friends. 

Surviving with his wife, Kristi Flowers of North Vernon; are his son, Harley (Saphire) Matthews of North Vernon; his daughters, Christina (Chris) Harris of Darlington, South Carolina, Cassidy (Justin) Bill of Florence, South Carolina, and Kelsey (Bailey) Marsh of Madison; sister, Tracy Dianne (Wendell) Smith of Pamplico, South Carolina; five grandsons; three granddaughters; niece, Jessica Shanell Poston of Pamplico, South Carolina; and special cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his first wife, Connie Flowers.

A funeral service for Chris will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with George Knight officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A celebration of life will be held at the Am Vet’s Post #7 at a later date.
